Postgraduate is the name given to a course taken after a first ‘degree’, usually a Bachelor’s degree, taught in a higher education establishment, within the scope of its training vocation and educational project, but in any case not conferring any degree.
The term “postgraduate” and “postgraduate training” (and others that suggest higher education training is involved) is reserved for higher education institutions, and corresponds, for example, to a specialisation course that forms part of the Master’s study cycle, but which is not enough to acquire the degree, although the concept of ‘’postgraduate‘’ is broader, covering examples other than this.
Postgraduate courses do not confer any academic degree.
Postgraduate specialisation courses in Nursing aim to ensure the acquisition of scientific, technical, human and cultural competence in a specific area of nursing.
Complementary higher education courses in English are one of the ways of acquiring a professional teaching qualification in group 120 – teaching English in the 3rd and 4th years of school.
