Merit Scholarship Merit-based scholarships are awarded by Higher Education Institutions (public and private) to students with exceptional achievements, regardless of their income, in accordance with the Regulations for Awarding Merit-based Scholarships to Students of Higher Education Institutions (available at About UPB > Legislation and Documentation) and the Internal Regulations for Awarding Merit-based Scholarships (available in the Academic Regulations menu). The Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES) is responsible for paying out the scholarships awarded. . See below the scholarships awarded to UPB students in the last three academic years.
