There are several ways to access and enter public higher education in Portugal. UPB, in collaboration with the Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES), has a wide range of competitions and special access and/or entry regimes aimed at the most diverse audiences. The following options are available for accessing/entering a degree programme at UPB: National Competition for Access to Higher Education (CNA), Special Access Regimes, Special Competitions (Holders of a Technological Specialization Diploma, Holders of a Higher Professional Technical Diploma, Holders of Other Higher Education Courses, 23+, Holders of Professional Courses and Special Competition for International Students), Change of Institution/Course and Reentry. The CNA and the Special Access Regimes are supervised and managed by the DGES. For access/entry to a Higher Professional Technical Course (CTeSP), a Postgraduate Programme or a Master’s and/or Doctoral programme, the UPB organises the respective local institutional competitions.
