Holders of Professional Courses

The special competition for students coming from professional pathways is aimed at students who have completed secondary school dual certification courses and specialised artistic courses. The following are eligible to apply:

• • Professional courses;

• • Learning courses;

• • Education and training courses for young people;

• • Sector-based courses from the Turismo de Portugal, I. P. network of schools;

• • Specialised artistic courses;

• • Professional training courses under the Youth Insertion Training Programme of the Autonomous Region of the Azores;

• • Specialised artistic courses at secondary level in the field of music;

• • European Union Member State courses, legally equivalent to Portuguese secondary education, conferring dual certification, both academic and professional, and conferring level 4 qualifications of the European Qualifications Framework;

• • Other non-Portuguese courses, legally equivalent to Portuguese secondary education, conferring dual school and professional certification.

Each year, each Higher Education Institution (HEI) defines the study cycles and areas for which it wishes to open places under this special competition. It is also a requirement, for access to a particular Bachelor’s or Integrated Master’s degree, to pass theoretical or practical tests to assess the knowledge and skills considered indispensable for entry and progression in Higher Education.
