What is accreditation for?

Accreditation makes it possible to simplify student mobility based on the principle of mutual recognition of the value of the training undertaken and the skills acquired and on the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), by crediting the training undertaken previously in the course/cycle of studies in which the student is enrolled. Accreditation also makes it possible to recognize skills acquired outside the formal education system through professional training and experience, crediting them to the course/cycle of studies in which the student is enrolled. By recognizing the skills acquired and the training completed previously, accreditation allows students to progress or complete their course/cycle of studies more quickly by exempting them from taking a number of course units.
