Translation Contest The Department of Foreign Languages at the School of Education has organised another edition of the 8th Translation Competition. This competition aims to encourage the practice of translation into various working languages in a formal context, offering higher education students the opportunity to take translation tests and be assessed by a committee with advanced training and extensive experience in the field of Translation Studies. At the same time, it aims to help raise students’ awareness of the importance of languages and translation in an increasingly global world, which also has an obligation to defend linguistic minorities. The awards ceremony took place on 12 July at the School of Education, where students Duarte Luz (1st prize), Ana Margarida Costa (2nd prize) and Charles Barbosa (3rd prize) were congratulated.
