- Transparency
We promote quality through the qualification of our teaching staff and the evaluation and accreditation of the institution and study cycles at national and international level.
We assume the challenge of reforming higher education and we believe in democratizing access, in opening up to new audiences and in the project of lifelong learning, contributing to bringing the attendance and qualification rates of the Portuguese population closer to the European Union average. We guarantee transparency and the academic and professional recognition of qualifications, by adapting to the Bologna Process, applying the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) and making the Guide to Training, Diplomas and Certificates available in bilingual format. We believe in the fundamental role of applied research in strengthening the educational mission at a professional and technological level and as a factor in external relations and economic development. We work for the full employability of our graduates by redesigning our training courses, offering curricular and professional internships, encouraging an entrepreneurial attitude and providing access to the local, regional, national, European and international job markets. We promote the internationalization of higher education by encouraging the mobility of our students and graduates, teachers, researchers and staff and by establishing joint educational and research projects across borders, in Europe and internationally. We participate in promoting the internationalization of polytechnic higher education at European level and in its integration into the network of European universities. We contribute to the development of higher education in Portuguese-speaking countries and to the development of a Lusophone area of higher education. We represent a fundamental factor in the economic, social and cultural sustainability of the region in which we operate.
