After the success of the previous editions in Vinhais (2019) and Seia (2021), RAMM – Artistic Residency Montanha Mágica* returned in 2024, with Mirandela as the setting. This is the result of a partnership between UPB’s School of Communication, Administration and Tourism (EsACT-UPB) and the Arts Department of the University of Beira Interior (UBI), involving students from both higher education institutions. The students have the opportunity to live an extremely enriching experience, both creatively and personally, enhanced by the intense exchange of experiences with the local community and the subsequent discussion of the results, as part of the Montanha Mágica* Art and Landscape Symposium (www.montanhamagica.ubi.pt).
The work of documenting and preserving the collective memory, traditions and visual and sound landscapes of the Trás-os-Montes region is under the guidance of teachers from both institutions and Trás-os-Montes director Rúben Sevivas.
