The School of Hospitality and Wellness (EHB) is UPB’s most recent organic unit, having been created in 2021 in Chaves. This is a project based on science, technology and strategic partnerships which, in that town and in the Alto Tâmega region, took its first steps with the creation and implementation of the AquaValor Collaborative Laboratory. The work to be carried out at this school is aligned not only with the region’s strategies, but also with the work being carried out by the UPB on the valorization of resources, in this case water and thermalism. _Installation Committee President – Maria José Gonçalves Alves Member – Alcina Maria de Almeida Rodrigues Nunes

Esact 1

The School of Communication, Administration and Tourism (EsACT) was created in 1995 as a branch of the School of Technology and Management in Mirandela. In 1999 it acquired an autonomous structure and the designation Escola Superior de Tecnologia e Gestão de Mirandela, a designation that remained in force until the restructuring of the UPB Statutes in 2008, when it took on its current name. With new infrastructures, renovated facilities and modern equipment, EsACT focuses its expertise on three strategic areas – Communication, Administration and Tourism – spread across several CTeSP courses and Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses. The areas of Communication, Administration and Tourism, seen as critical and crucial both for the School and for the development of the municipality, are also seen as strategic in their scientific and research activity, taking advantage of existing technological resources, business dynamism and the region’s historical and cultural heritage. _Director Sónia Paula da Silva Nogueira _Subdirectors Carlos Filipe Campos Rompante da Cunha Vítor José Domingues Mendonça
