Microcredentials_TI

Microcredentials are certifications acquired as a result of short-term learning experiences, designed to develop specialized knowledge, skills and competences with an immediate impact in the work context. Because they are flexible, inclusive and student-centred forms of learning, they enable the acquisition of skills suited to different profiles and needs, and are always co-designed with partner companies or organizations. The micro-credentials offered by the UPB are certified by the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and are aimed at adults, responding to market needs in the consolidation and requalification (upskill & reskill) of skills.

Single-standing course units_1

UPB offers single enrollment in any curricular unit of its Higher Professional Technical Courses (CTESPs) and Bachelor’s and Master’s study cycles to all interested parties, regardless of whether or not they are attending higher education. All the information on the functioning and programme contents of the available curricular units is available in the Courses menu. Enrollment in single-standing course units for non-enrolled students The possibility of enrolling in single-standing course units is an important opportunity for the training and reskilling of the region’s population, as well as for young people who have finished or are finishing secondary school and do not yet fulfil the necessary conditions to apply for higher education. Applications for enrollment in single-standing course units by any interested party not enrolled at UPB are made online, on the UPB application portal, at the beginning of each academic year or semester. Yes, as long as they haven’t taken advantage of the same program during their degree program. The latter can be used for a professional internship that is the subject of a final report for the cycle of studies leading to a Master’s degree.

Are students enrolled in a Master's program eligible for school social welfare?

Yes. Students enrolled in Master’s programmes are covered by higher education social welfare and can apply for a scholarship in accordance with article 2(2)(a)of the Regulations for Awarding Scholarships to Students of Public Higher Education Establishments (see https://sas.ipb.pt/).
