UPB Incubator

Through its business incubator, the Entrepreneurship, Employability and Training Innovation Office of the Bragança Polytechnic University supports the creation/development of technology-based companies, the transfer of knowledge and technology and the dissemination of applied research. Incubated spin-offs and start-ups benefit from continuous support for their ideas with business potential, developed within the academic community, and have access to the different resources of the UPB and regional partners, namely technical support in matters such as strategy, management, marketing, innovation, market research and financing. At the UPB Business Incubator, the academic community can take advantage of mentoring, consultancy, physical office space and access to technical and research laboratories. This structure is committed to promoting and developing a technology-based community and supporting qualified employment, as catalysts for economic and social growth in the region. With the aim of serving society by disseminating knowledge through excellent research focused on social and economic development, the UPB is an active player in the regional entrepreneurship network, with an important role as a founding partner of the Brigantia-EcoPark Science and Technology Park. Brigantia-EcoPark is a science and technology space to support consolidated/incubated technology-based companies (startups) and entrepreneurship. It aims to take advantage of the resources and higher education environment provided by the UPB in R&D+i (research, development and innovation) projects, creating conditions that promote the transfer of knowledge and technology. Collaboration with the regional network for the promotion of entrepreneurship is, along with closer relations with the local and regional economic and social community, the practical and executional aspect of teaching and training in the area of entrepreneurship. Non-Integrated Units

Innovative training in the context of higher education is characterised by intentional action aimed at improving student learning in a sustainable way. Social and technological evolution requires higher education to constantly adapt through new training offers that can respond to emerging societal challenges, through the application of active methodologies, learning opportunities in real work contexts based on complex challenges and close proximity to research centres. The non-integrated units are a tool for developing these emerging and transdisciplinary themes alongside the development of technical skills; they are designed to stimulate the development of transversal skills and promote better integration of graduates into the labour market.
